Narratives that explore the synchronization of audio and video to create experiences that look and feel as though they are not only existent in our three dimensional reality, but actually happening right in front of your eyes, as opposed to being viewed on a monitor or static screen.
Projection mapping allows creative directors to suspend a viewers disbelief well beyond that of viewing a traditional video by using objects in the real world as their canvas’ as a means to morph visual perspective, form and geometries. This evolutionary art form has created a whole new artistic medium in itself, known as “Projection Mapping”.

3D Projection Mapping Intro, How-To & Tutorial by Welt Lighting
Good tutorials and lessons on learning the art of video projection mapping are hard to come by on the web. This is probably due to the fact it’s a tedious, time consuming, complex art, for those who are truly passionate about building these sorts of graphics. This is perhaps what makes it such an awesome thing to witness in person, if everyone could create these show spectacles then it would lose it’s value! Luckily, if you do want to dip your toes into this amazing world where your imagination can run free then Virgil Ghic of Welt Lighting has put together one of the few awesome starting guide for 3d Projection Mapping.
I’ve personally read this book cover to cover. It breaks down the world of VJaying and its subcultures thoroughly. Literally every question one could have about VJaying is answered within this book. While video projection mapping is a particular type of VJaying, this book will bring you up to speed on the art of VJaying as a whole. From the roots of how VJing started to how it has become a huge phenomena present all around us, especially at most music concerts and venues. This book covers and profiles some of the worlds top VJ’s working in the scene today, all sorted section by section from the USA and Europe. The book breaks down all of the common software and hardware found in most VJ setups. The book also includes an awesome 130 minute DVD, showcasing some top VJ’s in action as well as some documentary footage. The whole book is highly stimulating from cover to cover in its graphic appeal. Every page has been crafted and designed with passion, making it a wonderful purchase for any visually stimulated person. It’s a piece of art that covers a highly engaging topic. We here at JM Pro Creative highly recommend it.
