But of course, all of the hype around RAW video comes at the expense of an extensive post-production workflow (for now) and of course the overall reliability and usability is not as stable as it could be. Not to mention the extreme amount of space you’ll need in memory cards and hard drives to accommodate the RAW workflows.
Other issues such as continuous video only possible at a max resolution of 1728×786 – a recording aspect ratio of 2.35:1 as opposed to 16:9. In this video I run through a few different shots of video comparing the same shots done in both the Magic Lantern RAW video as well as the Native H.264. There is definitely a great amount of possible issues to deal with such as “dead pixels” (as explained in the video) and not a huge amount of support just yet in the post production world.
